Yeonseok, the head of a household, suffers from insomnia. The cause of his insomnia is the monster under the couch. People around him laugh, dismissing it as a nightmare that only children would fear. Even Yeonseok is unsure whether the monster is real or just a figment of his imagination. Then one day, Yeonseok comes face to face with the monster under the couch.

Taesan and Dongju are a long-time couple. As they prepare to move, they find an old sofa on the street and bring it home. Their cramped apartment, now filled with the sofa, the couple preparing for their move, and their dreams, are depicted with an air of detachment. Just as windows are portals through which cats can reach inside and outside worlds, spores are the connection between life and death. Humans who know how to pay attention to items as small as spores give them soil, water, and sunlight.
